Blown-In Insulation

Fresh blown-in fiberglass or cellulose insulation, installed to your target R-value and inspected with a depth-ruler grid for consistent coverage.

What it is, in plain English

We install loose-fill blown-in insulation to the R-value the Department of Energy recommends for our climate zone (R-49 to R-60 for Omaha attics). Blown-in fills every cavity, conforms to irregular framing, and — when installed correctly — outperforms batts on every meaningful metric.

What's included

  • Choice of fiberglass or cellulose (we'll explain the tradeoffs)
  • Installed to DOE-recommended R-49 to R-60 for our climate
  • Depth ruler markers placed throughout for verifiable coverage
  • Baffles installed to maintain soffit ventilation
  • Walkable platforms preserved over key access areas
  • Bag count and final R-value documented for your records

Frequently asked

Fiberglass or cellulose — which should I choose?

Both work. Fiberglass is non-combustible, doesn't settle as much, and resists moisture better. Cellulose is greener (recycled paper), slightly better at blocking sound, and cheaper. We'll recommend based on your specific attic.

What R-value do I actually need?

The DOE recommends R-49 to R-60 for Omaha (climate zone 5). Anything less than R-30 is considered under-insulated and is leaving money on the table.

How long does the install take?

Most attics are done in 3–5 hours. You can use your home normally during the install.
